UnlockCity — Terms of Service (v3.0, July 2026)
1. Who we are. UnlockCity is operated by UnFog Ltd, London, United Kingdom ("we"). By using the app you agree to these terms. Contact: contact@unlockcity.app.
2. The service. UnlockCity provides city maps and visitor information, story hunts at real venues, photo matching, an AI guide, and Memory films. Content and features evolve, and venues, rooms or exhibits may change or close — hunts are updated on a reasonable-efforts basis.
3. Accounts & age. You need an account for purchases and sync. Keep your credentials safe. You must be at least 13; younger explorers may only play together with a parent or guardian using the adult's account.
4. Purchases. All digital purchases — Weekly Passes, film templates and membership — are made through Apple's In-App Purchase system at the price shown before you pay. A Weekly Pass lasts seven days from activation and does not auto-renew unless clearly labelled as a subscription. Venue entry tickets are always separate unless clearly stated. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store rules; where you have statutory withdrawal rights (e.g. UK/EU 14-day rights for digital content), these are respected through that process. Nothing here limits your statutory consumer rights.
5. Safety first. Hunts take place in real public places. Stay aware of your surroundings, follow venue rules and staff instructions, and never enter roads, restricted or unsafe areas to complete a challenge. No challenge ever requires risk — you can always skip a find. You take part at your own responsibility for how you move through the world.
6. Your photos. You own the photos you take. You grant us a limited licence to process and host them solely to provide the features you request — verification, Memory films and backup. We do not use your photos to train AI models without your separate opt-in consent. Do not photograph people in ways that infringe their rights, and do not upload unlawful content.
7. AI features. Photo matching is a best-effort aid with the attempt limit shown in the app; it is not a guarantee. AI guide answers may be inaccurate or incomplete — check important details (opening hours, tickets, access) with the venue.
8. Fair use. Do not cheat, automate, scrape, reverse-engineer, resell access to, or interfere with the service.
9. Our content. The app, stories, hunt designs, artwork and film templates belong to us or our licensors and are for your personal, non-commercial use. Memory films generated from your photos are yours to keep and share personally.
10. Liability. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Otherwise, our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including venue closures or third-party outages.
11. Ending things. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which removes your account data as described in the Privacy Notice. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, with notice where practicable.
12. Law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere as a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections and courts of your home country.
